Short project description:

“Think about Water” project will introduce the topic of safe and clean environment with a special aspect on the water use, in order to raise the awareness of the young generation about the meaning of water and the environment in general in our every day life. Nothing in the world can’t exist without water, but do we know this? 28 Youngsters from Macedonia; Serbia; Romania and Bulgaria will work together for 9 days in Strumica on the Youth Exchange "Think about water” discovering the usage of water and developing a sense for respect and appreciation of what nature has given to us through simulation exercises and role play exercises, through games and discussions. These youngsters will later  work on developing games and exercises connected to water in order to produce a tool for others to have the chance as well to learn about the water. The created water games will be later published in a booklet and in future will be introduce to youngsters to play. Furthermore the youngsters will have the chance to learn more about culture in general, differences and similarities among different ones, as well as have a chance to develop a link and cooperation for the future.

Project Objectives are:

  To raise awareness about the meaning of environment and to promote protection of the environment we are sharing by giving a chance to 28 youngsters to take part in a project working on the theme water;

  To broaden participants knowledge about the meaning of  the water as a fundamental part of the environment we are living in;

  To motivate participants creativity to invent games connected with water with aiming to raise awareness of the water to a wider audience;

  To promote Cultural diversity in Europe by giving an opportunity to 28 youngsters to experience other cultures while working for a common goal and to increase tolerance as well as to strengthen inter-cultural dialogue;

Youngsters participating in this project will work together on discovering the meaning of water in our everyday life, the protection of it and the protection of the environment in general and at the same time discovering differences and similarities among themselves by themselves. Through the implementing of non-formal education in forms of simulation games, role play exercises, ice-breakers, discussion, creativity we will reach out to the youngsters and making them think twice before spending water without meaning. We will raise their awareness about the position of the water in today society, the pollution that the men kind have made, the lack of water in some parts of the world and in this way youngsters will learn to appreciate the fact of having clean water to drink.
