In the first year of its work, “Environment Engineering Group” made an effort to develop their capacities and actively contribute to the development of ecological conscious, to establish cooperation with the organizations alike both in the country and abroad and to become an official “European Voluntary Service - Hosting Organization“. The first EVS volunteer in “Environment Engineering Group” was Sergej Trofimov from Estonia, who lived in Serbia from the 18th of December 2006 until the 28th of April 2007. 

 

The meeting of organizations of civil societies that passed into the second circle of national grant program “SECTOR”

In October, Regional centre for environment protection for Central and Eastern Europe (REC), supported by Sweden agency for international cooperation (SIDA), opened a tender for project proposals within the program for support to the organizations of civil societies (OCD) that work with urban environment and sustainable development in the region of Western Balkans.

 

“Environment Engineering Group” sent a sketch of the project proposal for this tender and passed to the second eliminating circle. Due to this they were asked to prepare a detailed project proposal and attend the preparatory meeting. Two representatives of “Environment Engineering Group” and one representative of the partner organization were present at the meeting. The main topic of the meeting was determining final project proposals, conditions and duties of narrative and financial reporting and cooperation with the media.

 

Contact making seminar “YOUTH Program and Ecology“

Dragalevci, Sofia, Bulgaria, December 14 – 18, 2006

 

The aim of the contact seminar was gathering young leaders, establishing new contacts and partnerships from which future projects in the field of environment protection would develop and which would be supported by the new program of the European Commission “Youth in Action“.

 

The contact seminar served for formal establishing of the network “European Network for Eco-Youth“ (ENEY) which gathers organizations which are active in the field of ecology and environment protection and whose primary target group is the youth.

The network will work in active promotion of involving the youth in environment protection and improvement, as well as organization of international projects.

 

“European Network for Eco-Youth“ presents a virtual group of organizations that deal with the environment. ENEY offers possibilities of contacting other organizations in Europe, exchange of experiences, developing mutual ideas, along with mutual work that also include active work with volunteers.

Activities of ENEY-a will include campaigns, trainings, courses, group works, exchange, organizing volunteering works along with the publication of the aforementioned at European level.

 

During the four-day seminar, the structure and philosophy of ENEY were considered, ideas on mutual aims and wanted results were developed, future activities and methods that would be used and would help the development of ENEY-a were planned and suggestions for future projects were given.

Youth Exchange – “Trees save, teenagers speak: Earthquake-Tree-Europe“

Istanbul, Turkey, December 02 – 11, 2006

 

The youth exchange was devoted to the effect of flora and woods on the reduction of earthquakes in areas where earthquakes are likely to occur. 5 countries participated in the youth exchange (Turkey, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland and Serbia). There were five participants and one youth leader from each country.

 

There was a nice and friendly atmosphere at the youth exchange. Besides learning, the participants had an opportunity to be introduced with cultural and historical heritage Istanbul, the only city located on two continents.

 

Since the youth exchange was devoted to trees as the protectors against earthquakes and to the youth as the future of the Planet, the participants used this occasion to plant some trees in the Asian part of Istanbul.

 

Besides experiences exchange, each group presented their culture and customs to the others.

The representatives of “Environment Engineering Group” presented the first aid in the case of an earthquake, Serbian culture, customs and food, as well as much developed Serbian sense of humour and socializing.

Seminar “The participation of the public in procedures important for the environment protection”

Vršac, Serbia, November 07 – 08, 2006

 

Within the improvement of non-governmental organizations capacities, the Regional centre for the environment for Central and Eastern Europe (REC) organized a seminar “The participation of the public in procedures important for the environment protection”. At this seminar, the stress was put on the participation of the public in the procedure of estimating effects on the environment, strategic estimation of the effects on the   environment and integrated prevention and control of pollution in the Republic of Serbia. Examples of good practice were also presented as well as particular examples from the practice. The participants had a chance to experience practical work in working groups. There was one representative of “Environment Engineering Group” at the seminar.

Seminar “Power is Youth“

Novi Sad, Serbia, July 6 – 10, 2006

 

The seminar was organized with aim to show to the participants the possibilities that the youth have in implementation of sustainable development and to show the importance of international cooperation in dealing with global problems, such are climate changes and environment protection.

The aim of the seminar was to provide for young people from abroad, besides participating in the seminar, a stay in the city of Novi Sad during the greatest music festival in South-Eastern Europe “EXIT FEST 06“. More than hundred young people from more than fifteen countries participated in the seminar.

Although this was the first seminar that “Environment Engineering Group” organized on their own, the participants and project team had positive impressions and commented that the seminar provided nice socializing and great experience for future activities.

 


2005

Seminar “Building capacities of sustainable development in South-Eastern Europe - Students initiative"

Novi Sad, Serbia, December 09 – 13, 2005

“Environment Engineering Group” was a co-organizer of this international seminar, which gathered about 30 students from 9 countries (Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovakia, Germany, Romania, Switzerland and Serbia).

 

 

 

The aim of the seminar was to present to the students presented actual problems in the field of sustainable development and the environment protection, as well as to motivate the students to actively deal with these topics in their own areas of living and at their universities.
