The Youth of the Red Cross in fight against climate changes

The youth terrain unit of the Red Cross of the town Gornji Milanovac held a round-table “Climate changes in the world and our contribution to them” at the jubilee tenth anniversary Assembly held on the 7th of February 2010. Mr. Igor Jezdimirović, the president of “Environment Engineering Group” was the introductory speaker. On this occasion Mr.Igor Jezdimirović was given acknowledgement for cooperation and support in the work of the youth terrain unit “Stevan Jakovljević” of the municipality organization of the Red Cross of the town of Gornji Milanovac.

  

The youth of the Red Cross is organized in the Red Cross organizations of municipalities and towns in all the places seen by the youth as potential and where they want to improve human attitude of the youth towards their environment.

 

The youth terrain unit "Stevan Jakovljević" of the municipal organization of the Red Cross of the town of Gornji Milanovac, represents one of the oldest and the most successful of the youth terrain units in Serbia that celebrated its jubilee this year, ten years of human work. The youth that is engaged in the youth terrain unit "Stevan Jakovljević" represent a human core of the town of Gornji Milanovac where many successful actions of helping to those who are most in need started.

 

"Environemt Engineering Group" from the very foundation have a special cooperation with the youth terrain unit "Stevan Jakovljević" and it is most willing to participate in various international projects in the country and abroad.

 

Having seen a need to participate in the global fight for environment protection and deterring pollution that lead to the climate changes, the youth terrain unit "Stevan Jakovljević" decided to devote the round-table exactly to this topic at its jubilee tenth Assembly.

 

The round-table “Climate Changes in the World and Our Contribution to Them” was the starting point that resulted in suggestions that the youth of the Red Cross is actively involved in the environment protection programs and to contribute to natural resources preservation. The atmosphere during the round-table was dynamic and open and it showed that the greatest interest of the youth of the Red Cross in this field is connected to recycling, forestation and education of the youngest. 

 

The conclusions of the round-table will be forwarded to the Commission for the Younger and Youth of the Red Cross of Serbia with a suggestion that other youth terrain units also organize activities connected to the environment protection and climate changes.

 

The network of the youth of the Red Cross of Serbia gathers about 16.000 young people and represents a great potential in the fight of the environment preservation and protection of the natural resources and natural richness in Serbia.
